Quite often when approaching a new work, I generally have a rough pencil sketch of my subject and spend a few days with it in my studio before I begin. I am search for that point of energy, I’ll adjust the sketch a little here and there, study my subject again while I wait for that moment which leads me to the colour aura and when I know where that point or points of energy begin it starts with that splash of paint the drives that movement.

Once that first movement of paint is in others follow these are my guides for the painting before the detail is added, the splashes pull the viewer in and direct the view offering my map of each piece.
